Initial fish stock is a certain number and weight of fish stocked into the pond at the beginning of the production cycle. This includes two parameters:
-Stocking rate: average number or weight of fish per unit area such as 2 fish/m2 , 2 kg fish/m2, or 200 kg/ha;
-Initial biomass: total weight of fish stocked into a specified pond such as 100 kg in Pond 9.
